Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Afghanistan, with at least two blank visa pages available for the Afghanistan visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not eligible for Afghanistan visa stamps.
If you hold a non-U.S. passport please also provide a copy of your U.S. Resident Alien Card (Green Card), your original U.S. Visa and your I-94 card with your passport.

Original signed letter from the employer or sponsoring company in the U.S. The applicants letter must be on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and including the applicant's passport number. If the applicant is a government contractor, this must be stated on the letter. The letter must specify the purpose of visit to Afghanistan, and request the Afghanistan visa. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant while in Afghanistan and must provide detailed contact information in Afghanistan.

A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Afghanistan. The letter should be printed on company letterhead, addressed to "The Embassy of Afghanistan, Visa Section", and signed by someone other then the applicant from upper management.
The business letter must briefly introduce the applicant, state the nature of the business to be conducted, the names and addresses of the company or companies that will be visited, and specify the type and desired validity of the visa.
The applicant need to provide a Health Clearance Letter indicating that the applicant is not suffering from Ebola or any other contagious disease. In Washington DC you may also provide an immunization card.
Applicants applying for a Work Visa should be below the age of retirement (65) and must provide their educational documents along with the visa application, invitation or introduction letter from the employer company in Afghanistan (including passport information, purpose of travel and duration of stay of the applicant). Additionally, the applicant should also have a confirmation letter from Consular Affairs Directorate-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the I.R. of Afghanistan.
If employment is the purpose of your visit, an official letter of introduction from your employer, sponsoring government or organization stating the purpose and duration of your trip is required. Please also include any sponsorship information and a financial guarantee for expenses that will be incurred in Afghanistan. In individual cases, you may be required to provide additional documents.
Processing time for Afghanistan visas is usually 15-20 business days.
